Speak Up & Call It Out - Safeguarding the Future of Irish Theatre. A theatre sector initiative led by Irish Theatre Institute and supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. After the events and revelations in 2017/18 in relation to the abuse of power, and in line with calls to action taking place in theatre sectors across the UK, Australia and elsewhere, Irish theatre came together to discuss and identify initiatives to begin a much needed cultural change in behaviour.

Stage & Screen Design Ireland

The publication highlights designers and productions recognised as having made an outstanding and significant contributions to stage and screen design in 2007 - 2014. Stage is defined as: theatre, opera and dance; and the design areas are: costume, hair and make-up, lighting, set and sound. Screen is defined as: film and television drama; and the design areas are: costume, hair, make-up and production design.

Irish Society of Stage & Screen Designers [ISSSD]

The Irish Society of Stage and Screen Designers celebrates the work of designers living and working in Ireland in theatre, television and film production. It is a professional organisation run by designers for designers. ISSSD acts as a hub for information sharing and communication between these professionals in both a national and international forum as the principal representative body of stage and screen designers in Ireland.

Prague Quadrennial (PQ)

Taking place every four years, Prague Quadrennial is the key international event for theatre designers in areas of set, costume, lighting, sound, make-up, video and prop-making. Irish Theatre Institute was the producer and co-ordinator of Ireland's first ever participation at the Prague Quadrennial Exhibition of Scenography and Theatre Architecture in 2007.

Findings Reports

PLAYOGRAPHYIreland online database of new Irish plays is complemented by analyses of its contents. ITI undertook the research for this project over a period of ten years (2001 - 2011) and, now that research is completed, further in depth analysis of the findings will be undertaken and a series of Findings Reports will be published. To date four Findings Reports are available for download (two of which are bi-lingual relating to Playography na Gaeilge) and contain a wealth of statistical information on new Irish playwriting in both the Irish and English languages.

Irish Theatre Handbook

Irish Theatre Institute has published four editions of the Irish Theatre Handbook since 1998. This publication contained information on all Irish theatre, dance and opera companies, festivals, venues and support organisations in the Republic and Northern Ireland. It also contained information on international festivals and networks and contact information for a wide range of suppliers of services to the theatre sector. An online companion resource www.irishtheatreonline.com was launched in 2004 and re-branded as IRISHTHEATRE.ie in 2014.

The Touring Experiment

In 2007 Siobhán Bourke and Jane Daly, Irish Theatre Institute's Co-Directors were engaged by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon to lead an action research project to inform and shape the future of arts touring in Ireland. This was entitled the Touring Experiment (2007 - 2008). Working with Temple Bar Cultural Trust and Research Consultant Belinda Moller, ITI undertook this two year action research project the findings of which have informed current policy for the Arts Council's Touring and Dissemination of Work Scheme.
