Over the years, ITI has developed a close relationship with the artists who have taken part in our numerous mentoring initiatives. Our team has identified the necessity for on-going support of artists following successful completion of participation in programmes such as Six in the Attic (SITA). The ALUMNI programme assists the individual artists and companies in their on-going professional development through enhancing their existing support systems.

Elevator

ELEVATOR is ITI's Resource Sharing initiative in association with Town Hall Theatre Galway. This East/West partnership, funded by the Arts Council, provides mentoring, strategic planning, exchange and training opportunities for emerging Producers and it is supported by administrative and infrastructural resources. Participants are provided with a stipend to allow them to see work by other artists and engage with networks in the partner city.

PRIME: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is developed and delivered by Irish Theatre Institute in partnership with Age & Opportunity/Bealtaine Festival, and is designed to provide career supports and training opportunities for theatre actors aged 55 to 80 years.

Phelim Donlon Playwright’s Bursary and Residency

Phelim Donlon Playwright’s Bursary and Residency is an initiative of Irish Theatre Institute in association with Tyrone Guthrie Centre. The bursary was created in 2015 in honour of Phelim Donlon, former Drama Officer at the Arts Council and a dedicated member of the first Irish Theatre Institute PLAYOGRAPHYIreland Advisory Panel, in acknowledgement of his valued contribution to Irish theatre.

Show in a Bag

Show in a Bag is an artist development initiative of Dublin Fringe Festival, Fishamble: The New Play Company and Irish Theatre Institute to resource theatre makers and actors. The first Show in a Bag initiative was established in 2010 to facilitate the creation of five new small scale, tourable shows which would highlight the talents and skills of performers making work for the Dublin Fringe Festival.

User Services

Irish Theatre Institute offers support to the independent artist and/or company through the ITI Artist Programme via information provision, mentoring and training. Initial supports are offered through ITI’s User Services with access to information, expertise, training programmes and facilities.
