PRIME: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is developed and delivered by Irish Theatre Institute in partnership with Age & Opportunity/Bealtaine Festival, and is designed to provide career supports and training opportunities for theatre actors aged 55 to 80 years.
prime offers professional theatre actors the opportunity to upskill and to build on new and existing networks through a series of industry workshops, masterclasses and engagements along with physical well-being techniques.
The prime programme, which takes place in Dublin City Centre, is subsidised by Irish Theatre Institute via Age & Opportunity/Bealtaine Festival and the Arts Council and offered on a first-come, first-served basis to those professional theatre actors who meet the criteria.
The focus of the prime programme includes:

- Entrepreneurial Skills/ Managing Yourself and Sustaining Your Career:
- Coaching Sessions
- Case Studies
prime sessions are faciliated in Irish Theatre Institute’s building at 17 Eustace Street, Dublin 2 as well as in a series of off-site visits to venues and productions including Bewley’s Cafe Theatre @ Powerscourt, Maureen Hughes Casting at Bow Street, The Ark, Abbey Theatre/Amharclann na Mainistreach and ANU at Collins Barracks.
Applications to participate in prime are accepted through open call, advertised through the news page.
