Irish Theatre Institute (ITI), is a resource organisation nurtures, promotes and drives the ambition of Irish theatre makers and Irish theatre, from its grassroots beginnings to its presentation on the world stage. We seek to maximise creative opportunities and resources for performing artists and producers across theatre and dance in all Ireland and international context.

The Team

Irish Theatre Institute (ITI) delivers supports and resources to the Irish theatre sector. Nurturing and promoting Irish theatre from individual artists to companies, collectives, venues and festivals, ITI drives ambition from presentation at local level to the national and world stage. ITI comprises a core team whose experience and specialisations includes theatre production, national and international touring, networking and promotion, policy and strategic development, research, publishing, financial and business management and artist development and support. ITI staff engages directly with independent artists via our programme of activities and remains committed and passionate about Irish theatre.

Board and Patrons

Irish Theatre Institute was formerly known as Theatre Shop (Ireland) from 1994 to 2006. In July 2006 the organisation was re-constituted, re-branded and re-launched as Irish Theatre Institute.

Irish Theatre Institute (ITI) is a Registered Charity, governed by a Board of Directors (see Boards and Patrons page for further details). ITI is a not for profit theatre resource organisation which creates opportunities for Irish theatre artists at home and abroad and strengthens resources for theatre artists from our base in Temple Bar, Dublin 2.
