PRIME: CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) FOR OLDER ACTORS – DAY 6

PRIME: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) For Older Actors is an initiative from Irish Theatre Institute in association with Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival, which is designed to provide career supports and training opportunities for the older theatre practitioner. Following an open call for applications, seven professional theatre actors were selected for participation in this pilot programme taking place May – September 2015.

The sixth and final day of the 2015 PRIME programme took place on Wednesday 2nd September, where actors participated in physical, networking and skill development sessions as well as attending a lunchtime performance of ANU Productions PALS – The Irish at Gallipoli at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks.

Highlights from the final day of PRIME:

Wednesday 2nd September

 Warm up and Movement           

Philippa Donnellan, Broadreach Director and Choreographer, CoisCéim Dance

An introductory warm-up using dance techniques including a short session of take-home exercises.

Self-Taping: A Practical Guide to Saving and Sharing

Mark Cantan, playwright, improvised performer, video producer and Irish Theatre Institute Six in the Attic Alumni Member

Practical guidance and advice on saving files and video clips and sharing with third parties.

Lunchtime performance: National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks

PALS – The Irish at Gallipoli, ANU Productions
