ITI SIX IN THE ATTIC ALUMNI OFF-SITE IN ASSOCIATION WITH COISCÉIM DANCE THEATRE 2016 RESIDENCIES

Paul Curley, Six in the Attic ALUMNI member

Following on from the highly successful Six in the Attic Alumni Off-Site pilot programme in 2015Irish Theatre Institute and CoisCéim Dance Theatre are delighted to announce writer and performer Paul Curley as the first participant of the programme in 2016. Designed to support and facilitate creative development opportunities for independent artists in Ireland, Six in the Attic Alumni Off-Site will go on to facilitate two further residencies during the remainder of 2016.

Joining Paul on his three-week residency in CoisCéim will be Shane O’Reilly and together they will continue work on their new musical There’s Gold in the Water, alongside composer Denis Clohessy.  Their time in CoisCéim also gives them access to the company’s studio in addition to their own office space for on-going writing and development work.

ITI Alumni member Paul has a wealth of experience, particularly in creating work for younger audiences.  As a devisor and collaborator he has worked with a wide range of companies in Ireland and the UK. Some recent work includes: CARE (WillFredd Theatre); Happily Ever After (Action Transport Theatre UK); Snow Mouse (Travelling Light/The Egg UK); An Ideal Husband (The Gate Theatre); FARM(WillFredd Theatre); The Bockety World of Henry & BucketThe Song from the SeaJack, Boy with a SuitcaseBig Sister Little Brother and A Murder of Crows (Barnstorm Theatre); Assassins (Rough Magic SEEDS); Mr Benn (Tall Stories, UK). He is writer and performer of Bake! A new play for 4-6 yr. olds, which has toured festivals and venues in Ireland.

Paul participated in Pan Pan Theatre Company’s International Mentorship and Bursary Programme 2014 with Theatre Artist Tim Crouch.

Six in the Attic Alumni Off-Site in association with CoisCéim Dance Theatre offer fixed term residencies that include studio access for performance artists including writers, theatre and dance makers at  CoisCéim’s premises in Dublin city centre.  For further information about how to apply for the programme please contact Irish Theatre Institute.
