ITI BECOMES OFFICIAL IRISH CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL THEATRE INSTITUTE NETWORK

Irish Theatre Institute is now the official Irish Centre for the International Theatre Institute network. Founded in 1948 by UNESCO in a post-World War II Europe, the International Theatre Institute is a non-governmental organisation with national centres in approximately 90 countries around the world. The Irish Centre now has a newly appointed Advisory Board which reflects a broad and diverse range of theatre practice and comprises the following members:

Annabelle Comyn – Director, Hatch Productions

Grace Dyas – Director, THEATREclub

Mark Galione – Lighting Designer & Production Manager

Aideen Howard – Literary Director, The Abbey  

Emma Jordan – Artistic Director, Prime Cut

Gavin Kostick – Literary Manager, Fishamble: The New Play Company

Colm Maher – Lighting Designer

Gina Moxley – Actor & Writer

Darach O Tuairisg – Artistic Director, Fibín

Mark O’Brien – Axis Arts Centre Director

Robert O’Mahoney – Actor

Ciaran O’Melia – Designer

Jenny Traynor – General Manger/Producer CoisCéim Dance Theatre

Steve Wilmer – Head of the School of Drama, Film & Music, Trinity College, Dublin

The Board’s President is Aideen Howard, Vice-President Gina Moxley and the Secretary General is Claire O’Neill.

The purpose of the International Theatre Institute is to promote international exchange of knowledge and practice in theatre arts and further details on the  Institute can be found here.
