WRITING A BURSARY APPLICATION WORKSHOP

An ITI Artist Supports & Training Workshop. Irish Theatre Institute invites applications for its intensive bursary application workshop for artists, focussing on the practicalities of preparing for, writing and submitting a bursary application.

Are you a professional Theatre Artist planning to apply to the Arts Council’s Bursary Awards* in July 2016? Do you know what your proposal is but stumble over how to clearly articulate it?Do you need help deciphering the guidelines and ensuring your application is eligible? Are you hesitant about how to begin tackling the application process? Do you know what type of supporting material you need?

Irish Theatre Institute invites applications for its intensive bursary application workshop for artists, focussing on the practicalities of preparing for, writing and submitting a bursary application. Some questions that will be addressed include:

 

  • What Bursary award can you apply for and are you eligible to apply?
  • What is your proposal and does it meet the objectives and priorities of the award?
  • What is a statement of artistic practice?
  • What type of supporting material should you include? How much is enough?
  • Have you scheduled a realistic timeline for your proposal?
  • What are the financial needs of your proposal and have you included financial/in-kind supports?
  • Does your project meet the Award assessment criteria?
  • Have you got all of the supporting material you need to ensure your application is eligible?

 

Criteria

  • Participants must be professional theatre artists.**
  • Participants must intend to participate in the upcoming Arts Council Bursary Award application process (deadline 14th July 2016).
  • Participants must be fully available to commit to the afternoon workshop on Tuesday 14th June from 2pm.

 

Cost

  • &euro20 per person – includes tea/coffee, snacks and training materials
