PART 1: Two Day Self-Taping Workshop with Casting Director Maureen Hughes

Friday 11th & Saturday 12th November at Bow Street Screen Acting Academy, Dublin

Open to professional actors aged 55 to 80 years, participants in this 2-day self-taping workshop can expect to learn new and to improve existing techniques, to gain confidence around the self-taping process and what it involves.

Maureen Hughes (LOVE-HATE / ONCE / ACCEPTABLE RISK) will run a two day workshop on understanding all there is to know about self-taping techniques which has become an essential tool in the actors canon. The aim of this workshop is to develop the actor’s skills in mastering this technique and will benefit those hoping to audition for productions both here and abroad.

The workshop is aimed at both emerging and more experienced actors. Over the course of two days the actors will shoot one-to-one auditions with direction and critique from Maureen. They will also view their work on Bow Street’s Main Cinema screen with evaluation. Other topics include, framing, sound, lighting, performance, packaging, and delivery.

For the workshop actors need to prepare a 2-3 minute duologue from any tv series or film script.   Please no monologues and no theatre scripts.
