Rehearsed reading of Thirst by Flann O'Brien

Thursday 26 May 2016 to Friday 27 May 2016
26th May @ 6pm and 27th May @ 1pm
The Lord Edward pub

To mark the fiftieth anniversary of Flann O’Brien’s death, International Literature Festival Dublin in association with Irish Theatre Institute’s PRIME initiative & Bealtaine Festival present a rehearsed reading of his one-act play, Thirst.

A study of after-hours drinking in a Dublin pub.

When a sergeant finds him serving after-hours, publican Ignatius Cornelius Coolahan regales his accuser with a protracted story of military service in the desert in the hope of tapping into his sense of thirst.

Staged with the kind permission of the Estate of Evelyn O’Nolan.

Running time: 45mins approx.
