International Theatre Exchange 2010

The 17th annual International Theatre Exchange, took place on the 6th & 7th of October 2010 during the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival. The International Theatre Exchange is a non-stop encounter with presenters, producers and programmers from across the world aimed at Irish companies and artists that have work ‘ready for export’ or, who are working on projects with an attractive international dimension.

At 2010 Theatre Exchange 35 International and 11 National Presenters met with 50 Irish Theatre Practioners. Over 300 round table meetings took place along with various In Conversations, Panel Discussions and In Developments from Fishamble: the New Play Company, Brokentalkers, The Corn Exchange and Conall Morrison.

The following is a schedule of events for the 17th Annual International Theatre Exchange.

Thurs 7th Oct 2010

9.45am: Opening Welcome

10.00am: Session I Information Seminar: Theatre – Live and Digital 

Speakers include Jessica Fuller, Director, Platform Ireland, Ron Inglis, Director, Regional Screen Scotland and Linda Crooks, Administrative Director, Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh

11.00am: Coffee

11.15am: Session II South Africa – New Opportunities

Speakers: Lara Foot Newton, Artistic Director, Baxter Theatre, Cape Town Ismail Mahomed, Director, National Arts Festival, Grahamstown Malcolm Purkey, Artistic Director, Market Theatre, Johannesburg Aubrey Sekhabi, Artistic Director, The South African State Theatre

12.30pm: Move to Project Arts Centre – light lunch provided

1.00pm: ‘In Development’

Silent written & performed by Pat Kinevane, presented by Fishamble: The New Play Company

2.00pm: Return to Coach House, Dublin Castle

2.15pm: Meet the Presenters – Session I

3.55pm: Coffee

4.05pm: Meet the Presenters – Session II

5.15pm: Finish

Please note places on Thursday 7th at The Coach House are limited and are aimed at companies with international touring credentials or with ambitions to tour a specific production
