DRAMATURGY WORKSHOP WITH HANNA SLÄTTNE

The workshop focusses on all things in dramaturgical approach - uderstanding the role of the dramaturg and how they fit into creative processes.

Hanna Slättne is the Director of New Work Development at Tinderbox Theatre Company where she runs the dramaturgy strand of the company’s activities: working with writers under commission, production dramaturgy and artist’s development programmes such as TAKE AWAY THEATRE and the STATE OF THE ARTS initiative; a series of dramaturgy led workshops for theatre makers. She works closely with Tinderbox’s Participatory programme across their varied range of activities. She is the dramaturg on Reassembled Slightly Askew; a sonic arts and new writing, immersive experience which is currently touring. She has worked with most of the leading Northern Irish theatre companies as part of the Joint Sectoral Dramaturgy Initiative 2005- 2015 and regularly collaborates with the BBC and Northern Ireland Screen providing skills development for writers. Together with Jo Mangan she devised and delivers the Space Programme an interdisciplinary arts residency focusing on collaboration and artistic processes since its inception in 2008. The programme is run bi-annually in Ireland by the Performance Corporation. Hanna is a founder member of The Dramaturgs’ Network UK and since 2015 is working with Pamela McQueen to launch the Dramaturgs’ Network Ireland. In 2016 Hanna won the Kenneth Tynan Award for excellence in dramaturgy.
